Celiac disease is common in infants and happens as a result of child genetics (inherited from one or both parents) and dietary triggers. The bones of children are at risk due to poor absorption of vitamin D and calcium. The weakening of the bones causes immunity problems and the child might feel tired in short durations.

If the child shows any of the above-mentioned symptoms or has slowed down significantly, you must consult a doctor as soon as possible. Children whose first relatives suffer from the disease are prone to it and should undergo check-ups. A small intestine biopsy can be done but you should always consider your child’s gastroenterologist whether the biopsy is recommended for the child or not. Calcium and vitamin D supplements should be given to the child for better immunity. You must prepare a dietary plan and understand the foods that you might serve the infant. For infants, it is easy to avoid gluten as they only feed on breast milk, so the cause of the diseases in them is mostly inherent.
Celiac disease is a lifelong condition. There is no cure for such disease although in the later stages when your baby grows up, you can avoid gluten-containing foods to contain the disease and prevent the complications caused by it.
